Development area
The National Model Design Code, published by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government in January 2021, defines a development area as: ‘Parts of the local area where radical, rather than incremental change is planned. These might include regeneration areas where significant change is expected to the existing urban form, urban extensions and new settlements.’
